Nissan sent me this about their Rogue One Rogue. They are making 5000 of these - more than twice as many than there were Sunchasers. Do people really get excited for these? They sure were nice to call me by my first name, that’s a very personal touch.

Who buys these movie cars? Have you ever bought one? Did you feel good or silly later? What happens when the movie bombs? Did they have an Ishtar Land Rover? Is there a graveyard of debadging remnants somewhere?

Kinja'd!!!

Rain and the holidays have me a little loopy.

Vespa goes in Tuesday, hopefully it will be running soon.

Kinja'd!!!

So I stand in my car port looking at them and the rain asking you silly questions about silly cars.

Yes.

As you all know, the BMW Z3 is pretty much the most famous Bond car... in the wooorld.

Is there anything different with a movie themed car? You might not feel as silly as the person who bought the Call of Duty Jeep.

No and a quick look tells me that my current car has never been anything close to a movie star: http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles_make-Volvo_model-S40.html

My previous vehicle didn’t do much better: http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?make=toyota&model=previa

The Rogue is just so... not Star Wars. It’d have to come with brand new body work that’s more reminiscent of a TIE Fighter or X-Wing rather than a black or white paintjob. It should also come with neon lights that come in lightsaber colours and make the appropriate noise when turned on. After all that you’d still be in a Rogue.

A Nissan GT-Rogue One, on the other hand, would be much more in line with Star Wars.

I went on a tangent since I can’t answer your question: I didn’t know that movie-themed cars were a thing until now.

Definitely a nominee. I’d throw in the base 3 series, Jetta, mustang, Corolla and civic. I don’t think anyone buys the New Bettle 2.
